NutriLens Privacy Policy

NutriLens ("we", "our", or "the app") helps you track nutrition by analyzing meal photos and voice descriptions. This policy describes what information we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices.

Information we collect

• Meal content you provide: photos, voice recordings, and any text you submit when logging meals.
• Profile and goals: name (optional), height, weight, age, activity level, and nutrition targets you enter during onboarding or in settings.
• Usage data stored on your device: logged meals, calorie and macro history, and weight entries.
• Purchase information: subscription status is handled by Apple; we receive entitlement status through our subscription provider (RevenueCat) to unlock Pro features.

How we collect information

• Directly from you: when you enter profile details, set goals, take or choose meal photos, record voice descriptions, or log meals.
• On your device: meal history, progress data, and preferences are saved locally using device storage.
• From Apple: subscription and purchase status through the App Store and RevenueCat.

How we use information

• Estimate calories, macros, and ingredients when you scan or voice-log a meal.
• Display your history, progress charts, and daily goals inside the app.
• Process and validate in-app subscriptions.

Third-party AI service (Google Gemini)

NutriLens uses Google Gemini, a third-party AI service operated by Google LLC, to analyze meals. When you choose to scan a meal or use voice logging and you agree in the app, we transmit:

• Meal photos you take or select from your photo library
• Voice recordings you create when describing a meal

This data is sent to Google Gemini solely to generate nutrition estimates (calories, macros, ingredients, and related labels). We do not send your name, profile information, nutrition goals, meal history, location, or Apple ID to Google Gemini.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Google is contractually required to protect personal data with protections that are substantially similar to those described in this policy.

The app asks for your explicit permission before sending meal photos or voice recordings to Google Gemini. You can revoke this permission at any time in Profile → Privacy & AI.

Other third-party services

• RevenueCat: subscription entitlement status to unlock NutriLens Pro.
• Apple App Store: payment processing and subscription management.

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.

Data storage

Most app data (meals, goals, weight logs) is stored locally on your device. We do not operate a user account server for core tracking features. Meal content sent to Google Gemini is processed by Google and is not stored on our servers.

Children

NutriLens is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

• Decline or revoke AI data sharing in the app before meal analysis is sent to Google Gemini.
• Delete logged data by removing entries in the app or uninstalling NutriLens.
• Revoke camera, photo library, and microphone access in iOS Settings.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
